You can fit shutters to both uPVC windows and uPVC conservatories with ease. The process for fitting shutters to uPVC windows is exactly the same as it is when the frames are made from wood.
Fitting shutters to UPVC windows creates an attractive look for your home, and many people prefer them to blinds thanks to their ease of use and style. External shutters are usually fitted to the exterior wall of your home, and as such are not affected by the material of the window frame. If you are fitting internal shutters, they can be fastened directly to a UPVC frame, although you will need to consider the placement of the window handle and other fittings to ensure that they do not interfere with each other. The manufacturer of your new shutters should be able to help with the design so that they are appropriately sized and inset.
Conservatory shutters are fitted in the same way as those on windows, however the different shape of some windows - particularly in the roof section will mean that the shutters will need to be custom made. If you are planning to add shutters to your windows later, it's a good idea to speak to your Independent Network installer as they will be able to provide advice about the design of your new windows and how best to integrate them with shutters later.
